Stormdale Covered Bridge at Coldstream, Carleton County

The Stormdale Covered Bridge crosses the Becaguimec River at Coldstream, Carleton County. This bridge was built in 1909. The photos show repairs being made to the bridge in the late fall of 2002 when these photos were taken.

Beautiful pictures. I love covered bridges. We have very few of them left in Connecticut. They are such a wonderful part of the past. It looks like you have a lot of them where you live.

Sandpiper:
We have 64 covered bridges in the province and I love finding them in those 'out of the way' places. I have photographed most all of them, with only about 4or 5 yet to locate. I still have many photos yet to post on this blog. I must do that soon. Glad you visited.

I should have looked at this photo and comments before asking my question on the other one...you answered part of it here :-) We have one county in Indiana that celebrates a Covered Bridge festival every year and has quite a few. I have gone and photographed a few.

Anne, I like the shot with just the bridge and the dry grasses and weeds. I visited Comstock Covered bridge in Colchester CT when I was the and will be writing a post aobut it soon. You must have a photo about the Covered Bridge in Woodstock somewhere in here, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I wanted to email you but could not find it, these pictures of the covered bridges are really good, they make me think of the movie Bridges of Madison County with Clint Eastwood.

Sadly this bridge was destroyed by fire
"ASHLAND, N.B. - Police say a fire that destroyed a 102-year-old covered bridge in western New Brunswick on the weekend may have been deliberately set.

RCMP say they believe it could be the work of the same arsonist who torched two businesses in the Ashland area three weeks ago.

Investigators say a truck stolen from Hartland, N.B., on Saturday was set on fire inside the Stormdale Covered Bridge.

The historic structure was completely destroyed."

Sad that this happens to our historic bridges

This covered bridge was destroyed by arson on the weekend of August 13th, 2011. Apparently a stolen half-ton truck was set ablaze inside of the covered bridge.
